Hello there guys
My question is: How can i add CSS to my DVD?
I know i shouldn't be asking this question this days
since there r many tools like "DVD Decrypter" and
many other programs that can easy brake this off.
But i just need to do this in a few of my DVD videos
I would like to find an easy to use program that can
implement this option to my DVD burning videos.
I've been trying "DVD Workshop 2" but is not that good
Thanks in advance

You can't. CSS can only be added during the pressing process, and you have to pay a license fee per disc. The CSS code is written to a part of the disc that burners cannot reach.
This is our seemingly endless thread on why you can't realistically protect your own discs : https://forum.videohelp.com/topic223640.htmlRead my blog here.

I don't know if you had seen the "DVD Workshop 2" Video
I mean their software promotion video of DVD Workshop 2.
The video is like 10 minutes long, there they explain how to
add this to protections, Microvision and CSS copy protection.
The problem with me is that i haven't try this for these reason...
DVD Workshop is telling me that the video being burning is too
big for the DVD, then i can't understand that, cus the video is
not bigger than 500MB, thats why i haven't try this out using
DVD Workshop 2
But about your answer, i agree with that, yeah, but thats acording
with the law, but don't tell me "NO YOU CAN'T" cus i know this is
100% posible, Thanks any way. -
You only can do it for disc image or replication tape output, but it is 100% impossible with recordable media. Even if you manage to burn it overriding error messages, you'll never read it unless you find a way to store keycode somewhere else and then use it somehow.

Well, if this is something imposible beyond ouour possibilities
Then how we explain this methode being done with DVD WS2? -
WS2 supports digital linear tape export, there's no limitation unlike with DVDR(W).

Hi, Mr.Jerk
if I am not mistaken you can do CSS and Macrovision copy-protection flags when creating masters with DVD Architect.. but it's very expensive app ($500)!!!
You can try with trail version. -
Do you really think this helps burning an encrypted DVDR?Originally Posted by live4fun

Cause it's not, the documentation you read is misleading. There was thread I participted in about this on Uleads forums. If you don't want to believe anyone here go ask there and you'll get the same response and that forum is monitored by Ulead. No ones pulling your chain but telling you the truth so you can cut the attitude.Originally Posted by Jerk
Just to add AFAIK setting the MV flag only affects analog output, it won't prevent ripping the disc. So it's pretty much useless unless you apply the CSS. As stated by Gunslinger it has to be done by the pressing facility as burners can't do this. So if you want to "protect" your discs get your checkbook out. -
CSS is to prevent ripping, Macrovision is used to prevent capturing or recording the analog signal with a capture card, DVD recorder, VHS deck....
Note that Macrovision is used as general term for analog protection but is actually a company that produces many types of protection including that used in the CSS. -
There was talk about the "DVD Download" format being "approved", but there's still alot of other things that need to be resolved -- Burners / Discs / Licensing / Limitations, etc...
I heard it might come true later this year, but who knows...

I'll give it 1 day 4hours and 22 minutes before the protection is hacked, I'm taking bets any takers?Originally Posted by GeorgeW

There's nothing new to be hacked -- it's burning the same CSS/APS that the replication houses do today. It just allows burning to writeable discs (given the proper equipment/discs/licensing/etc...)Originally Posted by thecoalman

So this mean that is i add the CSS protection to my project it will be a little harderCSS is to prevent ripping,...
to rip for some-one who doens't know that much about DVD videos and all of this? -
Sure but it has to be added by a pressing facility, you can't do it yourself. Minimum run is like 500-1000 discs and that's besides the licensing fees. And in the end you only need to type "copy DVD" into Google to find out how to get by it.Originally Posted by Jerk

Well, maybe you will feel better about it with a CSS flag enabled, but it won't really be CSS encrypted. As just about everyone has already said, the real CSS encryption cannot be done on your burner. You will need to have the disc professionally pressed. And you'll have to pay a CSS licensing fee.Originally Posted by Jerk
