    Hi everyone:

I inherited a laptop that uses Windows Media Player as default player. I am OK with Windows Media Player, except for the very annoying, money-begging POS called DVD+CSS Region Free. Every time I click open a media file, audio or video, this "beggar" will appear asking me to register and buy the code. (See picture below)

I am doing just fine without whatever that code that the "beggar" is asking me to buy. All I have to do is to click "exit" and Windows Media Player will play all my media files, audio and video, without any problems.

How can I delete this money-begging message? I looked for it in add/remove program and found nothing for DVD+CSS Region Free. It's hiding somewhere and I really want to get rid of it.

    Thanks

    Have you tried this:
Go to C:\Program Files\DVD Region+CSS Free and click on unins000.exe

    Hi powerpc123:

I just did. Now that annoying buying message does not come up any more; but Windows Media Player gives me error "not being to locate DVD Regin+CSS Free". Hm...I might as well uninstall this Windwos Media Player and install my own media software, if this cannot be fixed.

    Try this:

Run "regedit", CTRL+F, find and erase all references to "DVD Region+CSS Free",
    then reboot. (Hope it works)

    Hi all

Thanks for all your enthusiastic helps.

I went to Microsoft, downloaded & installed their new version (11?) of Windows Media Player. The problem went away. No more error. And, no more begging. Gosh! it was just like stopping at a traffic light in NYC and be swarmed with the car washers! LOL
