    Hi,

I am running three avi files through vdub_mp3_freeze to check for video freezes before converting them to DVD.

Two files are OK but when I try to check the third one, vdub_mp3_freeze crashes at the same spot every time. The log looks as follows. What the problem is? Thanks!

Most likely a corruption in the file it's trying to open.

Mats, thanks. Is it possible to fix the file? How?

Why and how do video freezes occur?
And what happens if you run a check and it finds errors? Can it fix it or not? Aren't video freezes the result of missing data?

I've never heard of it - although some videos may have had problems

Sorry but I do not know. Never experienced it yet but may be what's happening is a freeze?

There is a guide on this Web site how to fix a freeze. Sorry I do not have a link but I read it here.

There are some avi repair tools like DivFix, even if I've never succeded with them. To me, a broken AVI is only trash can fodder, unless it's something very precious.

You could try updating the codec in your computer for whatever codec is used in the problem AVI. Use GSpot to find out which.
