    Hi

I recently did a skydive and got a picture cd and dvd of my fall. My dvd shows myself diving but also everybody elses dive who was on the plane. I want to get the movie onto the PC so i can play about with it and edit things etc and then put it back onto another DVD.
I have no idea how to do this.

Abit of information to help: I go into the dvd and i have x2 folders. The first folder is:

    VIDEO_RM
In that folder is 3 files:

    1) VIDEO_RM - Back up file of IFO - 32KB - and is a .BUP file
    2) VIDEO_RM - Video CD Movie - 1MB - and is a .BUP file
    3) VIDEO-RM - Dvd Movie Info - 32KB - and is a .IFO file

    The other folder is:

    VIDEO_TS

In that folder is 6 files:

1)VIDEO_TS - Backup up file of the IFO - 12KB and is a .BUP file
    2)VIDEO_TS - Dvd Movie Info - 12KB and is a .IFO file
    3)VIDEO_TS - Dvd Movie - 256KB and is a .VOB file
4)VTS_01_0 - Backup File of the IFO - 20KB and is a .BUP file
    5)VTS_01_0 - Dvd Movie Info - 20KB and is a .IFO file
    6)VTS_01_1 - Dvd Movie - 771MB and is a .VOB file

The whole DVD runs for about 11minutes.

Your help will be much appreciated.

    Kind Regards
    Lee

The Video is on the VOB file. For a simple video like this, you could copy the VOB file to your hard drive, rename it to .MPEG instead of .VOB and edit it with most any MPEG editor. Even Windows Movie Maker would work, but you would need to output it as DV AVI and re-encode it to back to MPEG format afterwards if you use that program. That's if you wanted to keep it in MPEG format. Or you could try Cuttermaran for a free MPEG editor, and then no re-encoding. Or you may be able to use a trial version of another MPEG editor for such a short video.

Once you get the MPEG edited, you can author it again and burn it back as a DVD, or convert it to another format.
