  1. Hi people,

I seem to be having trouble using the compression codecs right now. I use Vidcap32 to capture me videos but when I install the Divx5pro codecs and the 'huffyuv' codec (as seen on VCDHelps section How To 'Capture' Lossless compression.

Whenever I install these codecs, they are not made available for me...any idea why?

  2. i might....

    huffy is yuy2
so im guessing u still have it set for rgb

so when ya pick the resolution during capture mode at video->format
select your res, then look below that n youl see 15 rgb [by default]
change it to yuy2... and your good to go
go to compression and voila ul see huffy inthere
lol i hope i explained this right to ya i know its a lil fuzzie

Hmmmm, I'm having the same problem, I've installed the huffy codec and DIVx et al, but all I can access using virtual dub (or any other proggy for that matter), is Cinepac radius, Indeo 5.1, Intel 4:2:0, Intel Indeo R3.2, Intel Indeo 4.5, Intel IYUV codec, and various flavou sof microsoft codec.
I've unistalled the DIVX and re-installed them and they still aren't there !!!
Could be something due to WInXP, but I can't see why.

    It's bloody annoying !

  4. M1dnight's post sorted my problem. I never knew the video format mode mattered.

If his post doesn't fix your problem then I'm not sure what will....sorry man.

Nope doesn't help, the problem I've got is Virtualdub doesn't list it as an available codec when I know it's installed !!
Using the System Info tool in XP it lists Huffy as being available, installed etc as well as a whole host of others !!! none of which seem to be available in any program I use.

    very odd...
