Alright well, i'm looking into purchasing a DVD recorder in order to record Halo 2 gameplays. I live in Australia and need to be able to record in pal-60.

Internal capture card is not an option as all I have is a laptop and external capture cards are incapable of recording in pal-60 as far as I am aware.

    - My question is can all DVD recorders record in pal-60? All I need is basic recording functionality not a HDD I just need to be able to burn to a disc and extract and convert the video on my laptop.

    - What specs/features should I be looking for in a recorder?

I have a $200-250 AUD budget and so far I've found this LG165 for about $180 dollars (whether it can record pal-60 or not i'm not sure) (http://au.lge.com/md/product/prodcategorylist.do?actType=detail&a ... 1100000940)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Umm... didn't you just ask this same question a few days ago in a different forum? Not to be a jerk or anything, but did you google it? I did, and this is what I got...

About halfway down, under FAQ in the first post:

Q: What about PAL-60 (Europe, Australia, etc)? I've heard you can't record PAL-60 on DVD.
A: it is true that pal-60 is presenting some problems for recording on dvd, just as it did on vhs. however, most (though not all) pal games still have a 50 hz mode, so you're welcome to record in that. otherwise, i will update this topic as i learn more about dvd recorders that might be able to record pal-60.
UPDATE: yautjaelder asserts that his Pioneer DVR-433H is capable of recording pal-60. please use this dvd recorder if you need to record in pal-60.

    There you go.
