NERO VISION 4 (out of sync)

i recently lost everything in my computer and had to start fresh.
im trying to get back all my stuff slowly.
i downloaded nero. but everytime i try to burn something,
everything is out of sync upon playback.

dvdrips playback pretty good.
but all others are out of sync.

any idea what i should do ??

I suspect you are encoding, not just burning. Just burning a file should not cause any sync loss. Checked for MP3 VBR audio?

What type of sync loss? Does it gradually get worse as the file plays or is it off the same amount all the way through? The first type can be caused by VBR audio, bad cuts and joins, corrupted video or audio. The lengths of the audio and video are different.

The second type can also be caused by bad cuts and joins or the encoder misreading the audio offset of the file. Easy to fix, just change the offset. But hard to figure out how much to adjust it.

I would also try a different encoder. ConvertXToDVD is popular. Just in case Nero is at fault.

yes the movie is out of sync from the start.
pretty badly too, about 5-10 seconds.

I too am having the same problem with Nero/Nero Vision 4 ever since I upgraded 3 days ago.



Looking into the problem I've checked my memory, CPU, and MOBO, but could find nothing wrong. I've tried and failed with this on two platforms: XP Pro and 32bit Vista Ultimate. This makes me think that it's the most recent upgrade from Nero. If you don't mind me asking, what is the version you are trying to use?

Next thought is to down-grade to an older version and go from there. I'll keep you posted on my results. Thanks for posting your findings.

Nerovision is prone to sync issues, and has been since the start. It is not a constant, every encode has it type problem, but NV simply struggles with some source files. If you look back through these forums you will find a long history of this.

A lot of us just use Nero for burning. Nero is one of those programs (Suites) that tries to do everything and sometimes it doesn't do the individual parts all that well.

Try ConvertX if you need to encode and you want to use a All-in-One type of converter. It seems to work very well for a simple converter.

Or course, if you want the best quality, it's not so easy. The individual programs are the best for that. I use a separate editor, encoder and authoring program. And also different programs for different formats.

It takes a bit of study to understand it all and apply the proper programs with each type of file, but you will get the best quality that way. And you will understand it all much better.

Or get a stand alone player that can play back Divx/Xvid avi files, and stop converting to DVD.

Hi there,

My NeroVision Express v.3.0.1.18 would not import any avi captured from a digital camera. Is it because I need some type of plug-ins or do I have to use some other software. My camera is a Canon Power Shot S3IS.

Also Window Movie Maker won't import them either. Thanks

I posted about the same issue just a few days ago... and found that Nero seemed to be the problem. I was burning an .avi file using Nero Vison 4.9.5.7 and the entire disc audio was out of sync.... was just a single .avi file to DVD, nothing fancy, and it's done this with many files when burning with Nero Vision. So taking some advice from here I then tried the exact same file using ConvertXtoDvd and it worked great! Audio was perfect.
Not saying that Nero Vision does it all the time, because I have had success with others, but alot of times I do get the out of sync audio or choppy playback sometimes... I'll stick to ConvertXtoDvd from now on.
