  1. I know you can't directly connect a VCR with a dvd player or even a DV camera and a dvd player. I have even tried putting a vcr in between the dvd player and the DV camera. I know that there has to be a way, can anyone give me some suggestions? I have a sony digital handycam, a computer that can play dvd's, and of course a dvd player. Please help!!

  2. You can connect your DVD playa direct to your VHS but you will need to disable 'Macrovision' on your DVD Player - Check the DVD compat list on this site to see if there is a hack to remove it. ALternatively you can buy a SCart cable which removes macrovision but this is about 30 pounds. Then simply press play on DVD and record on VHS et voila!!

  3. I video tape all my DVDs... I use my PC, powerdvd(DVD SOFTWARE PROGRAM) and a video card out to the VCR. Just taped ocean's eleven about an hour ago. Looks fine. Just like a VCD but on VHS.......

There are ways around macrovision you just have to know them......

    Good luck...

  4. BestBuy sells a product called SIMA $50 in their camcorder section this should eliminate the macrovision or stabilize the video signal so it doesn't cause your vhs to fade in and out. You connect this between the dvd and vcr. I have an Apex 3201 dvd player I enter a 4 digit code and I get a menu to turn the macrovision off so I don't need SIMA.
