I use Vegas 7 for editing and capturing from my dv-camcorder. No problem whatever, but i was beginning to wonder, what software device and it's settings, influence the end result.
I seem to choose between 3 video-capturing settings:
1. Camtasia capture video driver (the capturing software)
2. TV AV capture (which is my analog hardware tv/capture card)
3. Cirrus Logic USB-DVR2 source (don't know what this is)
It is, as usual, possible to choose which movie-format to save it in, but
i want to know what software device i use best in Vegas capturing?

If you have a DV camera, you should be using firewire so you don't have to re-encode as you capture. If you are using a recent cemare and USB 2 then the Cirrus Logic driver might be DV over USB2 transfer. Your manual should confirm this. What is your camera ?
