Hello. I am running the latest version of Windows, Vista, on 64-bit processing. The only reason why went to a 64-bit Processing was because I herd you can convert your movies a lot faster. And since I am a video producer, I do a lot of video production and from time to time I have to convert videos to High compression formats.
So my question is that is there any "fast" software, like ffmpeg, mencoder and other things like that for a 64-bit Operating system?

Final Cut Pro is for Apple Macs. Avid is an editor in it's own right.
Surely a video producer with that high a turn over would be purchasing either a turnkey editing system, or having a professional editing suite build bespoke. You would also know what level of software was required for professional results, and not what you read from the tools section here that had Freeware written next to it.
Frankly you sound like an amateur who is probably more interested in converting downloaded avis to DVD than doing real editing.
However, on the off chance that I am wrong, you should ditch Vista in favour of XP for the time being, as it's video performance is much faster without all the DRM overhead built into Vista.

FinalCut Pro studio, on a mac pro with 2 30 inch monitors, dual superdrives, 750GB at least, I suggest at least 4 750GB harddrives. Max out the memory to 16GB (don't get it from apple, get it from crucial or other company it's cheaper.) for a "PRO" mac setup
not real sure on the windows setup for avid, but Vista might cause some problems with video i'm not sure.

You would most likely need to compile it yourself, which due to dependencies probably isn't that practical with a live distro. You might want to dual (triple or whatever) boot to linux.
