Hello all,
It's a bit off topic but I hope some experts can help me or send me to the proper forum.
I'll be holding in march a pinball fair and I'd like to send real time video over the net so that people who can't come can still see some of the action.
I'll be having several webcams and a DSL line and I was wondering what was the best way to do this.
Many thanks for the help

probably something aroud 256Kbps, I know it ain't much but I don"t really want "broadcast" or DVD quality
Thanks for the help -
If say for example 5 wants to view live video directly from you, you would have to use 50kbps for both video and audio...it wouldn't be watchable... But you could stream to another server with faster connection and they can watch from it.
Why just real media? You can also use WMV using Windows Media Encoder. Or VLC Media Player and you can use almost any codecs and stream to others. -
Well, I have NO idea about what to use and which is the easiest/more powerful system.
As I stated the videos taken will be saved and published later on on emule and torrents, but I'd like people to be able to have a live feed with MUCH lower quality.
Would you have a link to a tutorial using VLC or WME ?
I like the idea of streaming to a faster server, what are the exisiting free solution (if any) ?
Thanks for all the tips
