When I got WinTV2000 to run my Hauppauge250 card, something came with it called Nanopeg Editor 2.3, and I don't know what it's for. I have tried to play around with it, import mpeg files etc. but I still can't understand what its function is. I was too embarrassed to ask in the forum but now it's irritating me . Ya' know, these software vendors really don't know how to communicate; they assume that anyone who downloads their software auto-undertands everything. There is no low-level explanation for what this thing is supposed to do.

Can anyone fill me in? thanx!

  2. Nanopeg is a crappy little non-reencoding MPEG editor. You can make simple cuts and pastes with it. It doesn't work very well.

Thanks. Makes sense. Usually the software that has the most glittering generalities describing it is the cheapest in the bunch.

Just wanted to let you know there are much better solutions if you want to edit tv shows material.

www.videoredo.com VideoReDo is about the best because it has a feature that removes commercials.

People say TMPG is good but price and complexity stopped me on the trial... I was looking at what took me the least amont of time to do and it was VideoReDo. All I wanted was to easily edit TV shows for my daughter so (we) she did not have to endure Baby Einstein commercials every time we watched a recorded TV show

So unlike most people on this forum I don't have to worry about being a pro to edit and burn HD... BTW I originally needed something that worked with Microsoft Media Center and videoredo was the only thing that easily edited DVRMS or MPEG2 HD
