Hey! I'm trying to convert an AVI movie to DVD-R (I want to watch it on my stand-alone DVD player). I tried to do it with AVI2DVD (great software), but had some problems.
    1. The AVI aspect ratio is 2.42:1, and I guess to movie is supposed to be 2:35:1. I don't know how I can burn the movie with a 2:35:1 aspect ratio. I tried 16:9 in AVI2DVD but lost (as expected) the edges of the film. How can do the conversion without losing the edges (so I'll get a 2:35:1 aspect ratio).
    2. I tried to use AVI2DVD for subtitles, which was great with the english subtitles - but I didn't get good results with hebrew subtitles, and got gibrish instead. How can I make the conversion software understand hebrew?
    Thank for the help,
    Liav

1: dvds are in 4:3 or 16:9. If 2:42 black borders will be added. What do you lose exactly? you will lose some edges because of overscan.

2: Don't know. Search our subtitle forum for hebrew.
