  1. I have some Xvid Files which I want to burn to DVD and play on my Philips 5960/37 DVD player, but it says the codec is not compatible(Sound plays fine). I ran them through AVI Recomp to try to make them compatible, but it separates the video and the audio into 2 streams. Whats the quickest way to re-combine them so they play together? I cant find a way to do it

    thanks

Virtualdubmod. Open the video, then click on Streams -> Stream List. Click on the Add button and select your audio file. Right-click on the audio track and make sure the mode is Direct Stream Copy. Click OK. Click on File -> Save As. Again, make sure the mode is Direct Stream Copy. Save you new avi file with audio and video.

AVIMux GUI is the best way to mux a DivX or XviD file especially if the audio is AC-3 format.

    One other thought:
If you use AutoGK for conversion, be sure to check the standalone MTK box.
This player uses the MediaTek MT1389 chip
You can apply this during install, or in the hidden options (CTRL + F9).
At the bottom right check enable standalone and MTK/Sigma.
