I'm wanting to convert the files from a DVD disc to AVI/WMV etc files that I can store on my PC. I've not been too bothered about the output file type as long as it was reasonable well known and well supported.
I've had the greatest success using DivX Converter, but the only problem is that the sound is out of sync with the image. At the start of the video clips the sound is just a bit behind the picture, ten minutes in and the difference is a lot more noticeable.
I've done some searching on this forum and I can see this is quite a common problem. I haven't found any threads with exactly my problem i.e. with the same hoped outcome so I thought I'd start a new one.
If you know of an easy solution using the existing software I'm using or a different app please let me know. Thanks

Baldrick's solution is probably the easiest. I have seen some rips where the FBI screen or such is included and the addition of it throws off the length of the video and the audio sync. If you used a program like VOB2MPG or something that ripped only the main movie, that might help.
