I`m using TMGP Enc DVD Author to edit vobfiles (in VIDEO_TS-files) with chapters but I´m looking for an other simple tool which creates more fancy chapter menues. Suggestions?

Simple and fancy are two different requirements. To be have more customization means more complicated programs. You can't have one without the other.
FYI you can have motion menus and add background pictures in TDA.
Dvd lab or dvd lab pro is often recommended here as a more advanced authoring program over tda. Of course that means a different learning curve. That is what I like about TDA - the simplicityDonatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
TDA2 is still as simple and time-saving and much more flexible in menu building than TDA1.6. The only remaining limitation is no editable page linking. If I ever need something like panoramic menu or editing a DVD with a DTS track, I'll turn to DVDLab, not earlier
