    Hello

    Can someone recommend a free video editing software?
    What I would like to do is transfer some videos of my family from my Sony Hi 8 Camcorder to my hard drive and edit them. And them burn the videos to DVD .

    If someone also has a procedure for this process please post it - I am brand new to this process ( editing, burning ) Or point me in the right direction.

    Use Windows Movie Maker to record and edit the the video. Export to dv-avi in WMM because you can't convert directly to dvd in wmm.
    Convert the dv-avi to dvd using DVD Flick.

    With an analog source you're going to need a capture device.
