    It's better to buy a dvd burner since they're so cheap now. The latest LITEON 18x & 20x spd burners rip fast. The price of a dvdrom is about the same as a dvd burner. I bought a 18x spd LITEON dvd burner for $32.00 that rips fast enough without any hacked firmware.

    I bought my 18x LITEON drive when I was in California last month. Newegg.com has them instock as well.
