    I know this sounds a stupid question when u first read it but what software would i need I dont mind splitting the movie into 2 parts . Thanx 4 your time guys .

    you'll need to split the movie using virtualdub.
    look at EDIT on the left

    You can also convert the whole AVI, then Use TMPGEnc again to split the mpeg
