If you have a dvd divx player just burn the avi on a cd, cut it if it wont fit.

If not you must make a xvcd but it will look like crap, https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=85&howtoselect=6;31#85 or use DVDx.

Or just get a dvd writer instead.

Not a normal DVD, no. You can compress a video from a DVD with a format like Xvid or Divx to fix the whole video on a CD, but the quality will be much lower than the original DVD. And you would need to use your computer or a Divx DVD player to watch it. There are quite a few settop Divx players on the market at present.

You can also use SVCD or VCD formats to use one or two CDs for a DVD video conversion, but again, quality will suffer. These formats are described to the upper left in 'WHAT IS'....

You can also convert a 700MB Divx to a regular DVD without too much quality loss, and then it should play on about any regular DVD player.

And -kyle-, in the future please use a title that describes your topic, as per our rules to allow others to search for better for topics.

    And welcome to our forums.

EDIT: Baldrick was ahead of me. A proper title looks much better.
