  3. FOR MUSIC-- hands down winmx I get more search results than kazaa and imesh. You can get movies there also.

    FOR MOVIES- In this order:

WINMX - they have movies sooner. And if you can get a connection with someone who has a t1 or t3 it's geat.Downfalls No file info window, and if the person your downloading from goes offline then you have to manually find the same file name and size to resume your dowload.

IMESH - I would make this my number one choice but they don't get the movies the quickest. the best part about Imesh is you dowlod from multiple users. example I downloaded a movie 7users with toal of 65KB/sec.They do have a file info window.

KAZAA- This is a cross between the two previous metioned. If you downloading a file from someone and they go offline then Kazaa automatically goes to the next person for a continious download.

    Hope that helps!

I've also tried MORPHEUS- Did they get busted or something?

    ARTY what do you use?
BEEV- I've never heard of KAZAA lite. What is that?

  5. its not really a peer ot peer network but none of the peer to peer programs can even come close to touching the newsgroups. the peer to peer's may reign king if you are looking for an obscure song but for general purpose collecting or movies usenet is king.

even if you have to pay $5 or $10 a month for a premium level news server newsgroups are well worth that money.

a good site to help you get started with newsgroups, or a peer to peer network, including IRC trading rooms, check out www.slyck.com

    P.S.
my personal reccomendation if you start looking at premium servers is easynews. they have the longest retention of any news server anywhere on earth and an almost perfect completion rate.
    peace out,
    dumwaldo
