    I was using AVI2DVD to generate a DVD out of 2 AVIs. It used the AVI-MUX GUI to join the two... At least it tried. It looks as if it has finished reading the first file, then BAM! I got an error:

    Code:
    Could not read from Audio Source 1. Although the end of the stream has not been reached yet. A reason could be bad frame headers.
    VdubMod didn't find any errors in the AVI. The sound is 5.1 AC3 format, 48 KHz. Both files plays fine individually, no mis-syncs that I can hear.

    What can I do to join the 2?

    When I have had AC3 audio, I have simply used append in virtualdubmod and save with Direct Stream Copy, and have never had sync issues.

    With VBR MP3, I save each half as uncompressed PCM, then add it back and disable the MP3 track. I save each half using Direct Stream Copy, then load the first file again, append the second, and again save with Direct Stream Copy.

    To date, every attempt has remained in sync throughout.

    Tried it. AVI plays fine. Converted to DVD using AVI2DVD... Loses audio about 1 minute into the movie. :P

    Used DivxToDVD and that worked.

    Looked in the AVI2DVD log, and noticed this thing:

    [12:38:57 AM] Audio Fixed successfully !
    [E:\Avi2dvd_temp\Fixed_Audio01.ac3 401949184 Bytes]
    [12:38:57 AM] Starts Ac3->Ac3 convertion ...
    [12:39:01 AM] Audio converted in Ac3 successfully !
    [E:\Avi2dvd_temp\AudioStream 1 AC3 5CH.ac3 3338496

    Well, guess it ain't too smart about detecting errors like this. When you start with almost 400 megs, and ends with about 3 megs, something's VERY wrong. :P
