I use bbmpeg to multiplex my svcds but sometimes when i multiplex mpv and mp2 files and cutting at the same time using MAX SIZE on general settings tab, result mpg file is huge and demage, 3 or 4 Gb. In my last test i used DVD2AVI, Virtualdub to framserve, CCE with 2100 kbps CBR to encode video and TMPGenc at 224 kbps (i've tried with 128 too) to encode audio (from DVD2AVI with 48 to 44.1KHz).
Can anyone know what is the problem ?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Why do u use CBR on SVCD?
    But maybe thats the prob.
Have you deselected VBR in the "Programm Stream Settings" in bbMPEG?
How big is the mpv and the mpa?
If you use the MAXSIZE Option and goto an other tab, the MAXSIZE Option is deselected again.

I've tried VBR but i didn't like the result. The image had some blocks. Maybe i've done something wrong.

I think i don't disable VBR on bbmpeg.

I always set MAXSIZE at the end.

  4. To get better results in CCE try 1-Pass VBR Q30 Min1700 Max2520 or try Multipass-VBR.
There is also a filter that smoothes the result.
But remember, all depends on the input movie. The result cant be better than the input.

Could it be because i didn't disable VBR ?
To do a Multipass-VBR need i do something special when frameserving ?

Thanks i will try it what you told me.

    Hi Aenema,

I've tried what you told me.
I used DVD2AVI, VFAPI, Virtualdub to resize and to add Portugueses subtitles) and CCE250sp with 1-Pass VBR Q30, 2100-2300, audio 224 (i divide the film in 3 parts).
When multiplexing (each part) with bbmpeg (SVCD, vbr checked and mux rate 0 or default) it always give me problems (mux too high... or something like that) and the file is huge, sometimes 2 or 3 Gb. If i multiplex it with TMPGenc the result file is ok.

    Why ?

  7. I dont know, sorry.
Which bbmpeg version do you use?
Normally you dont get such errors.
You have 1 pass VBR Max 230000+224 Audio-> Max 23224.
You can go up to 25200. So there should be muxing prob.
I know the prob when you leave the default mux rate in bbmpeg, but when you set it to 0 bbmpeg will calculate the max bitrate. And then there should be no errors.
Open bbmpeg, open the mpv and the mp2 set SVCD and mux to 0.
Then start and let bbmpeg analyse the streams. When it starts multiplexing stop and copy the text out of the window and send to to webmaster@ttool.de. I will check it.

    I use bbMPEG v1.24 beta 18.
By night i'll mux files again to send you the text file.
You will see a lot of lines saying "mux rate may be to low for data rate" or "PTS/DTS..."

Sometimes when muxing just 4 or 5 minutes file everything works fine.

    Thanks again.

    Hi Aenema

I've tested the same situation on a different PC and guess what ? EVERYTING WORKS. It's my home PC. It's not working properly. Windows problems i think. This weekend i'm gonna to clean (format) it and start encoding again.

    Thanks a lot.

What EXACT settings are people using for VBR MPEG-1 VCD's?

I;ve tried every concievable combination and NOTHING is working.

I want to get a .m2v video (encoded in CCE) and an .mp2 file (encoded in TMPGEnc) to multiplex and burn to VCD in NERO. I keep getting underrun errors, and it just doesn't work.

I think I need to select "VCD" and "VBR", but I think someone's exact settings/checks would help me TONS...

    Thanks in advance!
