When i use VOB 2 Mpg to convert a vob, sometimes the mpg that it creates plays nothing but Static for the sound, does anybody know why this happens? Seems to be the only flaw in the program i found, but a big one, because the mpg is completely unusable

It sounds like a problem with decoding AC3 or DTS audio. If either of these are played back unencoded, you get pink noise.

Can you play back AC3 and DTS normally (e.g. from the VOBs) ?
What was the original audio format ?

You could also try using rejig to demux the audio and video out to streams, just to see if they are OK.

I have also seen it on LPCM audio when your codecs are not inplace properly. When i see this in WMP i switch to MPC and it can handle it.

i can think of a couple ways it might be happening.

if the audio is not the first audio track in the vob and the first has been deleted but still listed as there as a 0 byte track.

if the vob is not the first but one of the continuation vobs of a multi vob mpeg the audio of that vob might not start with the proper header.

in either case try using dvdshrink to eliminate all but one audio track and make the vob a standalone video with a proper start and end.

is there anyway to do this with decrypter? I'm not familiar with DVD Shrink, and would stay away from installing another application if possible

Not nicely. Shrink is designed to make these sorts of modifications.
