I have MCE PC and I record shows to watch when its convenient. Some of the shows that I've recorded I want to keep. I don't seem to have any problems with regular cable channels and can record and edit them, remove commercials and make a DVD. But when it comes to premium channels, it says they are protected. Is there any way to get around this? I am making these when I am running out of room on my hard drive, and there are some shows or movies I want to watch again. Alos, if there is a way, please be specific as I am not the most computer literate person! Thanks.

you didnt read the fine print in that article did you, I'll quote itOriginally Posted by boldego
"This protection is determined when the file is generated by examining the broadcaster's copy protection flag (CGMS-A) and will limit how and when you're able to access a particular DVR-MS file. For example, movies recorded on a premium station like HBO may be encrypted, and consequently the techniques described in this article will not be applicable" -
