    Hi Guys:

Quick question: I set my laptop up to practice recording shows from cable with Windows Media Center. I recorded two shows: The Family Guy and The Boondocks. I used I'm Too 3Gp Video Converter to convert the Family Guy from "dvr-ms" to avi. It took forever but it worked. I then used Nero Recode to covert it to mp4. No problems. I did the same thing with the Boondocks and lost the sound. Then I tried to recode from "dvr-ms to mp4" with Nero and lost the sound again.

I tried using VdubMod to covert the files or save out the audio to a better format and it doesnt even recognize dvr-ms files.

My question is how can I convert dvr-ms files to a more friendly (smaller and reliable) format? I have alot of software, but I dont know what to use. Should I try them in Sony Vegas? Or Pinnalce 10?

    Thanks for the help.

I think XviD4PSP supports DVR-MS directly and can convert to MP4.

Or else try convert to a standard mpg with dvrmstoolbox or videoredo.
