Converting 24 to 25 fps always give me a headache. I've tried many solutions from guided tutorial in this forum. They're still too complicated for me..
One of my friend told me to try After Effect 7.0
Just import 24 fps movie into AE and change the project setting to 25 fps, then make a render....
The solution is look very nice to me. The quality is perfect, the audio is in the exact timing, but when I play frame-by-frame there's a double frame every 0, 24, 48, ....
I don't know if it's the right solution. Can anyone give me some advice? Thank you![]()

This solution is not more or less right than any other. It is up to you how you find it. If it is ok for you and the solution looks very nice then it is right one.
Before, when dgpulldown doesn't exist, I used to speed up the video and audio for such a conversion. Now I am using dgpulldown, even if there is a small barely noticeable jerk in the slow panning scenes. It doesn't bother me and I find it OK=right. -
Yeah, but the slight jerk he has, Abond, is greater than the stutter you have from using DGPulldown. He has a duplicate frame every second, whereas you have 2 duplicate fields every second. Your playback will be slightly smoother, the stutter slightly less noticeable.
sai might try DGPulldown and see if he likes it any better. If I'm understanding correctly, After Effects is reencoding to go from 24 to 25fps, never a good thing if it can be avoided. All he has to do is to tick the Custom box of DGPulldown, and set it for 24 (or 23.976)->25fps. Much faster, and the audio will also stay in synch. -
After Effect will also allow you to change the speed directly - which is a better solution from progressive 24 to progressive 25 ..
once you have done that -- you can render out as interlaced or progressive - your choice ..."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650)
