  1. I have amd64 bit dual core now and wanted to know if some of the video software that i use ( sony vegas and ulead dvd workshop ) take full advantage of these features or do i need to download a patch or something??????

  3. no not yet. I will be as soon as i get my 10k raptor. Is that the only way it will take advantage???? I thought as long as the chip is there no mater what system they could take advantage of it????

    In order to get full advantage of 64-bit computing power, you have to have three things all at once.

    The hardware (cpu & motherboard busses) have to be made to support it, the operating system has to support it (Win XP64 or a 64-bit Linux OS, maybe some others) and lastly - the software program itself has to be compiled/written to take advantage of the OS.

    You can have the hardware (I have an AMD ASUS motherboard A8V Deluxe that has the 939 cpu format - supports the AMD Athlon 64-bit if you bought & installed it) but not the OS (yet, but I will eventually). So at this time, I cannot yet run 64-bit software applications and get them to run at full speed.
    Whatever doesn't kill me, merely ticks me off. (Never again a Sony consumer.)

  5. thats cool and actually i have the windows 64 software but not install yet. Im waiting to buy my raptor 10kpm and i will put it on there since they keep pushing vista back and we dont know when it is gonna come out again... hell might be next summer which i dont feel like waiting that long
