I did a search for DVD folder to ISO and came up with no information. Please tell me where my question belongs.
I am trying to create an ISO image from a DVD folder I ripped. I followed the directions exactly for "folder to iso" but everytime I try to generate the ISO image I get an image that is 500 KB(Approx.). My dvd folder contains AUDIO_TS,VIDEO_TS,and the video_TS folder contains VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VTS-01_0.BUP,VTS_01_0.IFO, and VTS_01_1.VOB(4.35 GB).
I tried to burn the movie with nero but it failed, so I was going to generate the iso and try to burn with dvd decrypter but I cannot get the iso generated. I also tried "isodvd" but when I did that it said the path was invalid.
I have noticed that in some DVD folders there is a VIDEO_TS_.VOB file. This folder did not have that. Does that matter at all?
I am going to try to uplaod the log file nero generated when I attempted to burn with it.

Thanks in advance for any advise.

Use decrypter or DVD Shrink to create an ISO from your Folders, then use Decrypter or Image Burn to burn the ISO to DVD.
If you already have the Folders why are you trying to convert to ISO. You can burn your files to DVD in NERO using the DVD/Movie template.

  3. emt3920: Perhaps the file is too large to fit on a dvd disc. If you were to shrink it just a little bit with DVD Shrink and then allow DVD Shrink to create the ISO image and then burn that ISO file it might work. I could be wrong about this, and if I am please someone correct me. I think DVD Shrink will indicate if the file needs to be shrunk when you use it to open your folder that contains the DVD you authored. But maybe your authoring program would of warned you that the file is too big, even before this stage. If that is the case, I have revealed myself to be a moron, once again.

Sorry to be so sorry, but to save me I cannot figure out how to generate the ISO using Shrink or Decrypter. I tried everything I can think of. I tried to create MDS file in decrypter and when I tried to put the files in, it said they are not supported. I could not even figure out anything to try using dvdshrink.

I think the 4.35 size of the VOB files is small enough to fit on the dvd. Besides it was shrunk with dvd shrink in the first place. I ripped with DVDFab Decrypter and then shrunk with DVD Shrink. As I said, I attempted to burn with nero and the burn failed. For some reason I cannot get the log file to upload. It was totally greek to me, but I thought someone here might be able to decipher it. Tom please don't feel like you are a moron. If you are , what in the wrold does that make me!

I don't understand what is meant by "burning with Nero using a movie template". I attempted to burn with Nero using Nero vision Express. I put in the VOB and about five minutes into the encoding the burn failed. I believe this movie was "scrambled by the studio to prevent backing it up. I have tried everything I can think of. DVD shrink would not encode it from the disc, decrypter would not either. DVDFab Decrypter finally did it after three attempts. I also tried CladDVD. It worked after several tries but what I got was an incomplete movie that played about three quarters of the way through and then kept going back to the beginning of the movie(that is when I played the results on my stand-alone player)

I know this seems kinda strange to try so hard at something, but I just hate to let it beat me.

It is meant Nero Burning Rom. So, you have used wrong program.
So, let start over again. If you have still the folder outputed by DVDFab decrypter, load it in DVDShrink. Click backup and set the dvdshrink to output an ISO file (deactivate the burning with Nero). Once the iso is created, start DVDDecrypter (ISO Write mode) and burn the iso to disc. That's all.
If DVDShrink throw an error when you try to load the files outputed from DVDFab Decrypter, use FixVTS to clean the crap remaining after decryptin. Run it and load the vobs outputed from DVDFab Decrypter.

    I means exactly that!

First of all, if you wish to use Nero, stop using NVE. It is crap

Use Nero Burning Rom and when the wizard loads, chose DVD from the CD /DVD choice. Then a few icons down you will see the DVD/Movie template Icon. Click that. Nero will then have create AUDIO_TS and a VIDEO_TS folder. Put the files NOT JUST A VOB it sill not work. Yoou need the complete structure of files, into the left panel representing the VIDEO_TS folder. Burn.

Iwill not work with just a VOB That's basically an MPG2 file renamed with the .vob extension.
It needs to be authored to a complete DVD structure as folders or an ISO.

I finally got the movie burned using imagetool classic. It actually burned it without a hitch and pretty quickly too. Only problem is now the entire movie plays but about four or five minutes of the movie jerks, stalls and the sound is lost. I thought it was defective media so I burned again on a different brand of media. It did the same thing in the exact same place in the movie. Strangely, the original dvd plays perfectly all the way through. Do you think it will help me to use "FixVTS" on the files when i rip it again? Thanks again for your help!

There is also folder2iso ... simple under xp ... no issue with fat32 and iso's exceeding 4 gig .

For those runnung win98se and me ... remember 4 gig restriction or you could end up with error's .

Also handy for generating iso's that use auto launching exe's ... or patched iso's .

As for the perfect original ... and funny copies , consider accoss protection may be in play which will cause this .

I tried Folder2ISO and it would not load the files. dvdiso said invalid path and would not load the files.
Is there a fix for accoss protection?

Did you use the latest version of DVD Fab Decrypter? They come out with updates regularly. It sounds like the original rip was flawed.

If the Fab rip was OK and Shrink worked properly, you should be able to burn it with Nero or DVD Decrypter with no problems. The only thing I can think of for the 'invalid path' error is that the file was buried too deep in multiple folders.

For ARcoSS protection, do a forum search. Some DVDs are especially hard to back up.
