Hello,
i've been using Sony Vegas 6, rendering a video with 1m 57s, lots of clips from various martial
arts movies with a music in the background, the result is 414 mb, i did some editing in the song,
the Length of the song is 7:06m, is that a way that can make a AVI file smaller, like 50 or 60mb.
Has anyone edited a video with 5 or 6 minutes, that got a good result with the file size?
Any kind of feedback about this issue, would be apreciated.

As with any video compression, size is directly related to bitrate. The lower the bitrate, the smaller the size. Of course the lower the bitrate, the higher the likelihood of compression errors and artifacts. You need to find the right balance between bitrate and resolution to get the size ad image quality you need.
If you use MP3 audio at 128kbps, you need to encode the video at 640kbps or less to get a 60mb or smaller file. You will have to do some test encodes to see what resolution looks best at this bitrate.Read my blog here.

If this video is intended for you to watch, then you stop compressing just before you can "take it no more". If it is intended for others, you need to do your consumer research and find out
#1. Can they find the codec to play it?
#2. Do they think it is OK or do they barf their guts and blame you?
