  1. Hello everyone

I've downloaded several WMV HD trailers from this site:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/musicandvideo/hdvideo/contentshowcase.aspx

They are great quality 1280X720 (720 and 1080p)
I want to play this files on my HD Samsung 850 dvd player which doesn't suport wmv.
How can I encode this files to Vob files without any loss of quality ? Which is the best program for that ?

    Thanks!

You can't. Just be reducing the resolution to DVD spec will cost you quality. I know SUPER can convert some HD WMV material, although the quality might not the very best.

You can't convert to dvd without loss of quality, dvd is just 720x480/576 and reconverting will also cause some quality loss.

If they doesn't have any drm protection you can use convertxtodvd or use a standalone mpeg encoder like tmpgenc xpress.

If they are drm protected do a search for drm and wmv for more information.

  4. Thanks guys
I managed to get it done with convertxtodvd , strange the files sizes remain the same but the quality was not so great in comparison with original wmv hd files. The colours were not so ful and the image was not that sharp and there were also blocks in the corner. I played it through Samsung HD dvd player 720p and I was disapointed. Does anyone know are there any trailers or any other stuff (like this wmv hd trailers)
which can be downloaded from the internet in VOB files in the 1280X720 resolution ?

  5. The max resolution of DVD is 720x576/480. vob 1280x720 is not DVD. If your player can play raw mpeg's (or vob's) it is Ok. But DVD Video - no way.
