  1. What's a good program to use for downloading streaming media onto my hard drive? I would very much like to do this so that it can play smoothly, or so i could possibly convert to other formats, such as MP4. The first thing i would need to do is download it, and i dont know how to do that.

    - It's streaming video (WMV format).

The first place to look would be in https://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=39#39 to see what is available for recording streaming video. If it is DRM encoded, then you may have a problem, but other formats should work.

  3. Yeah, i know i could have just looked at the tools list first, but i was kind of hoping somebody would suggest a program that is very good. That way I could just use the recommended program instead of trying a few until i find one that works.

Soooo, does anybody happen to know of a really good one? If not, i guess i'll just try a couple and see which one i like...

I usually use a screen cap like Camstudio

  5. yeah, but it plays like absolute crap because its trying to stream it on my low bandwidth, which makes it play at like 1fps with a horribly compressed image. i would like to be able to actually download it at full framerate with decent quality image, which would take more time and HDD space than streaming, but would be worth it due to the great increase in quality.

however i just noticed its a bit more complicated. i can't get my hands on the .asx file, and wmplayer wont let me know the url of it. and the "playlist" on the website is done in flash with a wmplayer frame off to the side. ugggh i hate streaming video. i hate it so very very much...

  7. Yeah, it will look like absolute crap. I don't know if there's any way to get my hands on the actual video file.

i guess i'll just wait for a while and it will probably be on dvd as bonus content. i dont even wanna try watching it as streaming...
