capture widescreen on wintv usb2 pvr

Is there a regedit or something that will allow my wintv pvr2 usb2 capture card to record in widescreen format? I just got Dishnetwork VIP622 HDTV receiver and its a dual tuner. I have the second tuner going to capture card but wintv is only accepting 4:3 resolution. I have to capture in letterbox format otherwise it chops off the sides. If wintv cannot do this, a good recommendation of another capture card would be nice. too bad there isn't one out there that accepts the hidef outputs of the receiver for capture. everything i've seen is only tuner related.l Thanks.

Tell your HDTV receiver that your TV is widescreen. It will then send an anamorphic picture out the s-video and composite ports.

Once the video is captured use DVD Patcher to set the 16:9 flag.
