Anyone know any programs for OSX that can boost audio on an AVI file using a direct stream of the orginal video source?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. You can use ffmpegX to do that.

Drop the AVI file into ffmpegX, do a passthrough on the video and use the audio gain option to boost the audio. That should do it.

Well, that should have done it, but the Audio Boost option grayed out when I tried it with an AVI. Can't hurt to try it with your file though...

Thanks, I just tried that and it didn't work (didn't boost the audio, just reencoded the sound) if anyone else knows any other programs that boost the audio please tell me. Thanks.

  4. Sorry, Bob. I thought that would work. If you need to do this in one step, I don't know of any programs, but you can always demux the audio out, boost it using an audio editor (Sound Studio is decent) and then mux it back together.
