No picture in VDub with AIW 7500 Radeon......

I've recently got a Hercules Radeon All in Wonder 7500 and am trying to find the best settings for my system. For some reason, I can capture fine in MMC, but when I try to capture in VirtualDub, I get audio with no picture. At the moment I am using the TV Tuner (as apposed to composite or SVideo in); it shows the TV program in the window ok, and I've been thoroughly through settings - resolution, framerate, audiosync, etc - but it keeps just showing a blank screen on playback, but I can clearly hear the audio. Any ideas.....?

Also.....does AVI format munch up disk space or what?! It goes through 100meg a minute.....!!!! Muchos hungrey!

I've tried playing the avi back in both MMC & Media Player, but just audio & a blank screen.....
