    I spotted on shop shelf "Pioneer dvd-r, 50 spindle, 8x, Made in Taiwan" No such media is shown in the media listings. Anyone know what this is likely to be ? I thought Pioneer did away with its media manufacture.

    They did and AFAIK, Official "Pioneer" DVD-R media was never made at a speed faster than 4X.

  3. more than likely its ritek,or ridata,posing as either pioneer,or piodata..and i can almost feel in my water itll have a ritek G05 dye.
