    latest walmart flyer in canada has Diamond vision (i already own an older one... best $40 i ever spent) DVD player with DIVX for $49!

    I quite like how they feel the need to include the text "Includes remote control." - it better! wtf would you do with it if it didn't?

    @HillJack
    i've seen some "City" brand (its a brand better known in Asia) standalone full-size player *without* remote
    It didnt have IR window nor any display where it could hide, thus im 100% sure it wasnt any manufacturing reject simply missing a remote - it was designed like this

    Cheap players tend to use Sunplus chipsets and you really do get what you pay for.

    back in the middle 90's one of my friends remotes decided to come up missing. until he bought another one he used a pool cue stick. Human ingenuity.
