I have used a Benq and a Lite-On DVD Burner. Neither work when I put them in my computer, but BOTH work if I have them with a USB Enclosure. Why is that?!?! Has anyone else seen the same thing?
I think I have the master & slave jumpers both as cable select. I tried it with ONLY the burner in my PC, taking out my DVD ROM. What could it be?
HELP?!?!

Instead of cable select, can try set your burner to master and CDROM to slave or vice versa. If that doesn't work, then it's time you look for the motherboard driver and also update the CMOS. Try the motherboard driver first. If all else fail, then reflash the CMOS as the last resort. Must follow the flashing carefully. If flash wrongly, it may kill the motherboard.
