Just recently recieved a click wheel 40GB iPod from a mate connected it to my laptop and iTunes recognized it but said that needed to be formatted so did that now the bloody thing wont turn on!

When a button is pressed the apple logo appears and you can hear the disk start to spin and the an image of the dock connector appears with an arrow (meaning connect i think) when i connect it nothing happened, so went on to apple and tried the suggestions like update the iTunes/iPod software but still no joy

Can anyone help me with getting it working again?

Don't see any system info for you. Would be helpful to know if you're using Windoze or OSX
