I'm starting to get quite a library of DV Tapes. I've used a couple brands but am wondering which is best. Can't find a post on this. Can anyone tell me where to find info on which DV tapes capture the best quality and are the most reliable?

Can't confirm this, but I have read in numerous articles, NEVER MIX BRANDS! They say that once you start with one brand, stick with it, as they have different kinds of lubricants on the tapes that can cause problems with different brands, or something like that. I have been using Sony consumer stuff in my home camera (PC-100) and they are fine. In my Canon XL-1 at work, I have been using the Panasonic DVM63 tapes and they are great too. Can't say that I have seen much difference in the different brands yet. It isn't like the old days where you see dropouts and tape wear from shuttling back and forth on the tapes and start to know which is good and which isn't. With Hi8 tapes, it was definitely an issue!! Now, you shoot, dump in in the PC, and that's it.
