Question and Verbatim Medi disks

Verbatim has something called Medi disks

Does anyone know what the difference between these disk and Verbatims regular dvd-r disk?

They're promoting them as ideal for medical-records storage, so these particular discs come with a certification that they're manufactured to meet applicable government standards for data integrity and storage life when it comes to how long hospitals, insurance companies, etc. have to keep your medical records on file.

Other than that, they're basically the same discs as Verbatim's standard DVD-R media.

You are getting essentially the same thing by buying the Verbatim 16x dvd's from Office Depot or Office Max, or Best Buy, for $12.99 per 50 pack. Just make sure you get the Made In Taiwan for these. All other dvd's, look for Made In Japan.

I have never seen inkjet printables at BB, Office Max, or Office Depot ever? And have never seen these sold @ $12.99 any store or any online stores? When did you find them @ $13?

I've seen Verbatim inkjet in a number of stores. I think Fry's did some days ago. As has one of the office supply chains. But the truth is inkjet discs are not needed much by lay consumers, so they don't really sell them in places for those shoppers.

Indeed, these Verbatims are just "certified" discs. I have a feeling hospitals MUST buy this sort of overpriced stuff for the certification. Very sad, it's no wonder hospitals cost so damned much. But it's still the same discs you and I get at Best Buy.

Sorry, your original question was: "Does anyone know what the difference between these disk and Verbatims regular dvd-r disk? ". I do see inkjet printables in Office Max, Best Buy, and Compusa. The last ones I bought were memorex 16x injet printables for $14.00 per 25pack. The work great on my NEC 3500. My others are Taiyo Yudens which I bought online for $39.00 per 50 pack.

He was told that they are the same as regualr verbatims, but are certified by solarfox, and I offered the verbatim dvd-r he was looking at at a lower price. he wasn't asking for any other brand printable dvds, he specified VERBATIM

I don't know what world you are from Denvers Dawgs, but the first complaint about my post was that the Verbatims I referred to weren't printable, when the original question was was how did the Medical verbatims compare to other verbatims being sold. Now I offer alternative printables that are in stores (when YOU say stores don't carry printables.). Do you just like to argue or what!
