I'm using VCDeasy to add equidistant chapters to my VCD's. The only problem is that some chapters (not all) come out really chopy. And sometimes once I've hit next or previous the sound cuts out. Is there a way to fix this?

    I use:
    Panasonic R31
    Nero 5.5.8.0
    Memorex 80min CDR's
    WinXP

    Thanks

  2. Normally I would say it might be a problem with your DVD player, but I have a Panasonic R-31 also (actually, it's RV-31 - not sure if there's a difference). I haven't had this sort of problem. ...And I use VCDEasy, and I'm burning on Memorex 80min CDRs, but I burn with VCDEasy (not Nero). (I've also used ACER and Imation 80min CDRs successfully.) So, I guess that begins to rule out some things. How do the VCDs play on your PC DVD player?

Another thing is that I normally paste chapters from ChapterXtractor, but that shouldn't make a difference. I also enabled the setting "Output bitstream for edit (GOP)" in TMPGEnc that is supposed to help with chaptering according to http://www.geocities.com/medinotes/vcd/chapters.html.

Have you enabled "relaxed APS constraints for chapter entry points" in the VCDEasy settings? I leave this box unchecked (disabled), and I guess that's generally recommended.

I did have a small problem with VCDs I received from someone else. Occasionally, if I FF and then pressed play, the sound would stop. I had to pause and restart to get the sound back. But I haven't noticed this on any of the 15 or so XVCDs I've created. Maybe it had something to do with the burner or the burning software?

I'm running win2k with a Toshiba CDRW/DVD SDR2102, and I burn at 8x (max my writer can handle).

I really have no idea if any of this information will help, but I figured since I have such a similar setup I should probably respond.
