    Hello,

I want to zip my DivX avi files , which average 700mb, so I can copy them onto a cd-r. I want to create more space in my hard drive but when I try to zip my avi files the compression rate is almost zero. For example if I try to zip a 700mb avi file the final result would be 697mb. Does anybody have any tricks to really compress an avi file. Thanks for your time and effort.

  2. If u wanna try WINACE, or WINRAR, sometimes they work well...

(You can also use all three, if u wanna go through all the trouble)

Winace compresses much better it seems, but is slower...

Try those and tell me how it goes.... (both are freeware, just do a search for them)

  3. Divx is already highly compressed so other formats will not compress much.
