Was wondering if the latest version adds this capability yet? Also, with the latest 2.60 firmware Sony silently put in support for 480x270 h264 video direct from the Memory Stick Duo. Of course I doubt if any encoders can actually do this yet since the files have to be heavily DRM'd, or so the speculation is (http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000990070303/), but at least the capability is there!

Anyway, if h264 is possible now, please inform me (us) of how best to do this - I'd love to try it!

  2. No, PSP is a stubborn device which use unstandard streams. However I plan to add PSP H.264 too.

Are you saying that H264 is only possible with 2.60 ?

How are the movies they sell encoded? Which codec?

I know that movies work since 1.5 I believe.

    Thanks

  5. H264 has been introduced with 2.00. All versions play mpeg-4 as made by the ffmpegX PSP preset.

    thanks for the info.

but I know that my Spiderman 2 UMD movie worked for me even with firmware 1.5
maybe it is in another codec, right?

thanks again, I don't wanna take your time with those little questions
