I didn't buy anything last year on BF just cause I hate standing in line for a so-so deal. But, I caught this item for the upcoming BF sale at WalMart, this is a popular discussion item at Anandtech forum and elsewhere:

HP Pavilion 15" Laptop model ZE2308wm for $398 with no rebates.

Sounds pretty good to me, I need to replace this aging IBM laptop with a 12" screen that I've been using for years...

Sounds like a good deal to me. I'd buy one, except for two facts (1) Don't really have the money, (2) Don't really use laptops anymore.

If you have funds, and need a laptop, go for it.

If you have more than $400, there are probably better machines for $1000 or so.

    Just a quick update:

Wal-Mart has posted their Black Friday ad on their online site (walmart.com) and you can enter your zip code and see the complete ad.
(No rebates on anything necessary, either)

The laptop mentioned is now down to $378!!!

Also, a HP Desktop system for $398 (AMD Sempron 3000 1.8ghz, 512/40GB/48xCD-RW and a 15" LCD Monitor, 9-in-1 memory card reader)

They also have a 15" LCD TV for $198...

and a DVD Recorder for $68.

    Lots of other good deals.

Guess I'll be in line early this year, probably have to be there by midnight for the 5 AM opening time.

A friend works at Walmart, He said they were told 10 per Store. He didn't know it that meant 10 total or 10 of Each.....I'm talking about the PC and Laptop Only... He also said they will only have 50 Xbox 360's available....
