When searching files on my 160GB Maxtor drive, why does it load so loudly?
If i do a scan with ontrack and no bad sectors are logged is the drive ok?
Cheers.

Bearing noise indicates the drive is failing.
Head flopping indicates a fragmentation problem.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

download MAXTOR UTILITY called MAXBLASTER to test the hard drive. if it fails you'll get a code which you can use to RMA the drive if you have a warranty on it that isn't expired.Originally Posted by SE14man
