Alright, here is what I am going to do. I want to capture movies from Pay-Per-View and put them to DVD/SVCD. I have a Digital Cable setup (no satellite) so DVB-C I am pretty sure (correct me if I'm wrong). Just to let you know why I am doing this, it's because I would like the FullScreen version of some movies that aren't available on FullScreen dvds. Now don't get me wrong, WideScreen is good and all if you have a kinda big TV, but on long trips in the van, widescreen kinda sucks on the tiny TV.
SO what I would like to know is how I am going to go about doing this. What will I need? Do I need a DVB card or can I use my set-top box in some way? And what programs do I need to use to edit? Is there any way I can edit the movies in Adobe Premiere Pro? (because if I was making SVCD, I would have to cut the movie into sections after scenes and add black at the end so my DVD player doesn't cut off the scene) And last thing, I read something about descraambling stations. Can I descramble the PayPerView channels so I don't have to pay every time I attempt to capture?
any help would much appreciated, thanks.

You don't have a zoom function on your dvd player? Many cable channels have low bitrates and low resolutions, so zooming in on your dvds would provide better looking results.

Huh? Low bitrates means more noise. Zoom in on the noise? Barf.Originally Posted by minchjp
