it coms out a little blocky on some parts. any suggestions on what is worng?
    2) i used nero's vcd maker to burn an avi to vcd format. the nero instructions said it could do the conversion form avi to vcd compliant. burned it and stand alone dvd player won't read it. any suggestions?
also, my dvd player is apex 500w or 500a. i forget which.

Well abou tthe blockiness, i tall depends on how the MPG file is codec, does'nt have very miuch t odo with the burning although im sure a dirty CD or something will not exactly improve the quality. I hav enoticed that when I have re-used my CD-RWs about 50 times they start so act weird.

Why it won't play in your DVS is hard to answer, the times I let Nero convert my Avis to VCD it sucked bigtime so I never use that, stick with TMPGenc. I guess you shoudl check the DVD player compability list to see about media and stuff...
    Thanx/

I haven't noticed this and I certainly have CD-RW's that I've used more than 50 times. Exactly what's it doing? The only thing I've ever noticed about CD-RW is that on it's first burn it sometimes works in things that normally don't like CD-RW, but nothing else.
