With VirtualDub MPEG2 is it possible to apply a video filter to a certain selection (section of the movie) only?

I have tried using Video/Select Range to do this but it doesn't work.

  2. To my knowledge you should cut out the section you want to be "filtered" and then add it back in. Let's say you have 3 sections, A, B and C. You only want to filter B.
You load up all three, select A and save using Direct Stream. Select C and save as direct Stream then delete A and C, filter B and then segment them back together.

There is a conditional filter available for VirtualDub that should also work with VDubMpeg2. It allows you to specify which frames you want to apply a filter to. I'll see if I can find a link to the filter.
    Try this:

How well would this work if you are working with a large file, say 4gig mpeg2? Wouldn't you have to save it as uncompressed .avi?
This could result in some very big files.
