    Hi Guys,

I am looking for a BD player for my home. These are the features that I am looking for:

    1. Wired/Wifi connection (both will be nice but not necessary)
    2. USB port (2.0)
    3. Supports NTFS
    4. Plays Divx/Xvid and Divx/Xvid HD
    5. Plays avi, mkv, mp4 files
    6. youTube
This is the site I am looking at:

    http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/HomeElectronics%28ME%29/DVDMediaPlayers%28ME%29/...9/Default.aspx

Currently, I have sony BD player but it won't recognize my mkv or avi files from external drive.

    Thank you in advance,

Do you care about region free playback for DVDs only or for DVDs and BD discs? If you do care that will influence the answers you get and restrict your choices quite a bit.

Region free will be nice but it is not necessary. One thing which i forgot to mention that my budget is $150-$200.

    Thanks,

  4. Sony S580 or LG BD580, Sony has more channels and the YouTube app has more features. The only caveat is the Sony doesn't support MKV. If your main objective is streaming then get a WD Media Hub or TV Live Plus.

  6. They're selling the Seiki BD player in Wal-Mart Canada. Cheap and supposedly plays darn near everything. You could do a search, it's been discussed here a good bit.

    Good luck.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

The poor guy just have enough problem with sony bd player, most people do, except sony employee. Cross the sony off the list.

Note: Sony is the only company that don't get it. Consumers are king, do bow to us, and go make better gear as well.

I guess you've had problems with Sony devices but I haven't. I'm happy with my Sony S570, I'm not saying it's the best Blu-ray player but it has everything I need.

If you search the internet Samsung owners have the most problems.
